Foreword

A Personal Letter from Sir Jason Winters

I want to thank you for reading this book. Because of people like you, the world is changing. It has become obvious to all of us that medical science alone cannot solve all of our modern day maladies. Ancient remedies will not replace modern medical breakthroughs, but, as we are finding out quickly, they can certainly help tremendously. Ancient and natural therapies have been tried out over the centuries and the ones found to be effective are still in use today. Seventy-five years ago in England, for example, my grandmother, "Grandma Lewis" was busy helping distressed people by giving them St. John's Wort. Now, millions know that this herb works every bit as good as the modern day Prozac, with one big difference however—St. Johns Wort does not have any side effects and no withdrawal symptoms.

In 1920, Grandma Lewis was giving a mixture of garlic, gensing and ginger to the survivors of World War I who were suffering from shell shock, depression and shattered nerves. Her close relative, Lord Lewis, was on her health herbal formulas every day while serving in the British Parliament.

So, now you and I are aware that all healing arts must work together for the benefit of all. There can no longer be bitterness and hatred between orthodox and alternative practitioners. The time has come for open minds, more understanding and more compassion for all.

Since 1977, when I should have died, some very important people have helped me and I would be remiss not to thank them.

To Prince Charles, who placed his hand on my shoulder and said, "Don't worry, Mr. Winters, only God can tell you when you will die."

To the Archbishop of Canterbury, who, with Christian love, took time from his busy schedule to research the herb referred to many times in the Bible.

To Dr. Ian Pierce who tested the herbal tea formula in the laboratory.

To Dr Malcolm Rae, who gave me such courage and strength.

To U.S. Congressmen James Bilbray and John Ensign for the award they gave me.

Thanks to Health Minister Hashimoto of Japan, Jaime Licoaco of the Philippines, and to Josef de Ubaldo of Manila, head of the Herbalist Association.

To Ruth Montgomery, America 's favorite author, and finally, to the United States Surgeon General, for his invaluable report on antioxidants.

The author wishes to make it clear that he does not recommend total rejection of orthodox methods of treating illness, or a doctor's advice. If you are ill, see your doctor and tell him that you will do whatever he feels that you should. Then ask him ifits all right if you change your diet to a more sensible one, and if he minds if you take herbs or herbal combinations. Any thinking doctor will see no problem with this.

Sir Jason Winters' objective is to get all of the healing arts, both orthodox and unorthodox, natural and chemical, to work together for the benefit of mankind.

A Message from the Author

When I was first contacted by Jason Winters to write about his experiences I was very busy with other writings, and even though he was calling from the USA, I tried to put him off. He was quite persistent however, and finally I told him to send me the manuscript for my perusal. Within a week a package arrived and it consisted of cassette tapes, entitled "The Jason Winters Story". I listened to them with complete disinterest, then sat up and started to take notice. Something in this man's voice portrayed sincerity and great compassion.

His claims about cancer, herbs, laetrile, world travel and ultimate health, if true, were something the world should know about without delay.

First, I had to check out his story—the hospital, doctors, x-rays, cancer clinic, Dr. Malcolm Rae of Great Britain, and others. Then I started to check his sources of information, starting with the Bible, the writings of Buddha, Krishna, Bahå'u'llåh, and Hippocrates. Everything I found verifies Winters' story.

This took me six months, then I informed Winters that I would indeed write this little book for him. As always, I have written in the first person.

And so, dear reader, I give you The Jason Winters Story. May it be an inspiration to all who read it.
