Foreword
Present within all of us is a natural healing power - an active inbuilt system that keeps us in a state of health - the IMMUNE SYSTEM.
Not a great deal is required for this system to function properly. Unfortunately modern society has adopted destructive tendencies: excessive consumption of fast foods; drug and alcohol abuse; overuse of prescription drugs; environmental pollution; complacency; and greed; have altered the way we grow, transport, preserve and store food.
Our water supply is treated with chemicals and the soil has been stripped of nutrients. As a result of these procedures, a lot of the food we eat has minimal nutrient content by the time it reaches our mouths.
Tests have shown that the mineral content in commercially grown fruit and vegetables is reduced by 50% as opposed to organically grown produce. Not only that, you are consuming residual poisons, owing to the rampant use of chemical sprays, fertilizers and pesticides.
This is not necessarily a criticism. Just a fact inserted to illustrate why there may be a real need for the daily practice of dietary supplementation with vitamins and minerals and the appropriate intake of fresh fruit and vegetables.
A balanced diet with plenty of raw food is essential. Although the nutrient value of raw food may have been compromised, they still contain vital nutrient combinations, not to mention enzymes.
